John McCain’s Health Insurance Proposal

The race for the White House continues, and as a country, we have narrowed the choices down to three candidates. On the Democrat’s side, you have Obama and Clinton, both of whom agree that health insurance should be offered to all children. Clinton takes the plan to the next step and recommends the entire country is mandated to purchase health insurance. On the wing of politics, John McCain does not believe the government should impose a national mandate to obtain health insurance.

John McCain’s plan offers tax advantages to lower-income families who cannot find affordable health insurance. For individuals in the lower income bracket, a $2,500 tax credit will be offered. For lower income families, a $5,000 tax credit will be offered. McCain’s team understands that many of those in the lower income bracket may be denied health insurance. The overall goal of the McCain campaign is to cover as many people in a cost effective way.
