Cherry Picking America’s Needs
As the residents of Texas prepare for the primaries, Clinton and Obama’s healthcare plans will be picked apart to decipher how either of their plans could benefit Texans. Currently, Texas is suffering from a huge portion of the population which lacks health insurance. Many of these individuals are illegal immigrants who have children while in Texas. The cost is funded mainly on a local and state level. The federal government makes little contributions to the high cost of Texas Health Insurance. Free hospitals have taken an oath to provide healthcare to all, but budgeting problems have forced some of these hospitals to lay off employees.
I can’t begin to comprehend how providing free healthcare to poor illegal immigrants has taken precedent over providing jobs for our fellow American. Hillary’s plan guarantees health insurance coverage to all citizens by mandating health insurance, but whether she plans on providing health insurance to illegal immigrants is unclear. All of the guidelines for the democratic healthcare reform a rather murky. Are these candidates just cherry picking popular topics to talk about, or can their plans actually work. They have not designed a payment plan that seems to support the massive funding demands. Clinton has proposed an information technology upgrade that would eliminate the use of paper. Researchers predict that it could begin to produce savings of $77 billion per year. But the country will not see results until the program runs for 15 years. All in all, these candidates will discuss the topics that appeal to many American’s who are either uninsured, or tired of pay for the high costs of health insurance.
