Individual Health Insurance Mandate Gains Huge Support

America’s, National Business Group on Health (NBGH), a non-profit representative of almost 300 of the largest businesses across the US. They currently represent companies like Ford Motor Company, Wal-Mart, and GE. The NBGH believes a health insurance mandate would greatly benefit the United States in our current economic state. But they also believe the Presidential candidates are steering the new reform in the wrong direction. Most candidates believe the employers should partially fund the mandatory healthcare.

The NBGH feels that obligating employers to fund employee health insurance policies will force jobs to be eliminated. Many employees will have to downsize or move jobs to off-shore sites. By forcing another expense on businesses, the economy will be further harmed. The NBGH recommends presidential candidates reevaluate their current proposals and offer individuals the same tax benefits that employees currently receive for providing health insurance to employees.

I love how a group of business owners think, they just want to make sure their business members are not affected. I think they are hoping the gov. will provide free coverage to all their employees, and they can not offer benefits any longer.
