What drives the price of healthcare?
Politicians across the country constantly argue how to improve the healthcare system. The truth is that the system does not have to be fixed. The people in the system need to be fixed. People in America have a minimal education on a proper diet. We’re constantly bombarded by advertisements from fast food restaurants and eating on the run is easily done with junk food. Insurance companies constantly raise their prices on a yearly basis because of the rising costs of medical treatments. But the rising cost of health care should also be taken into perspective with the rising disregard for personal health in this country.
The majority of Americans make little or no time for exercise. A proper diet taken with an exercise plan will optimize the body’s health. But America’s work driven society sets aside a small amount of time for exercising and dieting. America’s smoking, drinking, and obesity is due to the lifestyles of stress and work. The increases costs of healthcare are the prices America must pay for the lifestyles we continue to live. So, next time a politician recommends socialized medicine, just think of how much prices could increase if the entire country has access to the healthcare system.
