Candidates focus on Romney
Mitt Romney’s healthcare law has become the focus of dispute for presidential candidates. The candidates are quick to criticize the plan Romney implemented last year. The Democratic Party is focusing on a government mandate for health insurance. A universal healthcare system will require all citizens to obtain health insurance in some form, whether through private insurance, an employer, or some government system. However, while these plans sound like a good idea during the debate, it is more than likely that these plans will be butchered by the time they pass through congress.
Romney’s Massachusetts plan requires that all individuals obtain health insurance, or else they will be taxed. Romney’s plan for his presidential campaign does not fall under the same requirements. Candidates have criticized Romney for adding another tax and moving in the direction of a social healthcare system.
