Aetna Advantage Plans
Even though Aetna Advantage Plans for Individuals and Families are not guaranteed issue plans, more people qualify for Aetna plans than for plans of other insurance companies. Unlike other health insurance companies who require medical underwriting, Aetna places their applicants into four risk categories based on their medical risk factors. Upon completion of the medical underwriting, applicants may be enrolled in their selected plan at preferred rates, with a moderate increase in the premium based on medical findings, with a significant increase in the premium, or they may be declined coverage due to significant medical risks. Other companies may offer insurance but exclude coverage for a certain medical condition. Since this does not help you, a higher premium for coverage is often a much better option. Aetna plans also provide additional benefits to their members such as a great national network and optional dental coverage for as low as $14-16 per month for an individual. These additional benefits in conjunction with Aetna's medical underwriting process make Aetna a great option for health insurance.
